Urban Solar Tree
Infrastructural Product

On a global scale there is an urgent need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by lowering city energy consumption, while on a local scale, city inhabitants require immediate solutions to improve air quality. Through minimal intervention, Urban Solar Tree creates a symbiotic relationship with the existing infrastructure of streetlamps, marrying photovoltaic technology with state-of-the-art air filtration to produce both clean energy and air. Its modular flexibility allows it to interface with the diversity of streetlamp typologies around the globe. Instead of approaching sustainable solutions as a tabula rasa, this small and symbiotic design is a new form of sustainable architecture.
